Rick Spencer-Walt Scores Hot Rod Victory, Pair of Podiums at ACC

PETERBOROUGH, Ontario — Driving two different cars for two different owners at Peterborough Speedway’s Autumn Colours Classic, Rick Spencer-Walt picked up a pair of podium performances.

Behind the wheel of the thunderbird for car owner Rob Bromley with the JRS Auctions OSCAAR Hot Rods, Spencer-Walt was fast in practice but ran into mechanical issues during the second session. The team was able to make the necessary repairs to have the car ready for qualifying later that night.

The speed was still there, as Spencer-Walt led flag-to-flag in the first heat, followed by making his way through traffic for a runner-up in the second qualifier.

The strong effort gave him the fourth starting spot for the feature, which he took full advantage of. He would make his way up to second with just 10 laps on the board, taking the lead from his teammate two laps later. Spencer-Walt then paced the remaining laps to score the victory in the feature.

Behind the wheel for ADAMS Motorsports with the OSCAAR Modifieds, Spencer-Walt was solid in his qualifying heats with finishes of second and third.

He’d take the green flag within the top-five, falling back in the first 10 laps. However, as more laps went by, he was able to make his way back through the field, breaking into the top-five at the halfway mark. He kept climbing his way forward, taking over second with just four laps remaining. Unfortunately, he did not have enough time to rundown the race leader en route to a runner-up.
