PETERBOROUGH, Ontario — Making his first trip to Peterborough Speedway, Austyn Jennett put together a solid weekend with a top-10 finish in the Autumn Colours Classic feature.
Jennett showed right away he had the speed capable of being successful, making his way from the back of his first qualifier to a fifth-place finish. He then started on the front row for the second heat, wasting no time in taking the top spot and cruising away from the field en route to the checkered flag.
The solid qualifying effort enabled him to start inside of the top-10 for the feature with goals set on making his way forward. He was able to make up track position in the early stages of the event, making his way up to fourth by the halfway mark. He tracked down Spencer Riddell for third and was looking to set him up for a pass for the podium when a late-race caution came out.
Restarting on the outside, Jennett was unable to get enough grip to make his way back forward with the bottom being the dominant groove, falling back to sixth for the checkered flag.
