PETERBOROUGH, Ontario — Keeping the car underneath him and taking advantage when the door opened, Chase Cousineau was the inaugural Autumn Colours Classic winner for the Bandoleros at Peterborough Speedway.
Chase Cousineau ran second off the drop of the green flag, keeping himself in the thick action until the turning point at Lap 5. He watched his fellow competitor slow ahead of him, opening the door for him to take over the top spot. From there on, he led the remaining 10 laps en route to winning the event.
Fellow Jr Late Model regular Landon Sellers put together a clean event for second in front of Luke Cuthbertson.
Ava Boundy was inside the top-three until her car slowed with mechanical issues on Lap 8, with Lyla Sikma pacing the opening five laps until her own issues.
Track announcer Ben Hodgson had made his way from the back of the field up until third, but checked up when Sikma slowed in front of him, taking a spin through the frontstretch grass with damage sustained to the left front.
Lucas Finnegan rounded out the field after issues at the very beginning.
