Shawn Chenoweth Dominates Stewart’s Equipment 50 at Sunset Speedway

INNISFIL, Ontario — Starting on the pole, Shawn Chenoweth did not look back en route to winning the Stewart’s Equipment 50 on Saturday at Sunset Speedway.

Chenoweth would put his No. 89c out front, and then put a gap between himself and the field as the laps ticked away on the leader board. A late-race caution would bring the field to his rear bumper, and saw Carson Nagy mount a challenge to no avail. For Chenoweth, the victory marks his third straight at Sunset Speedway after winning in weekly competition, followed by a checkered flag in the Flyin’ Frank 49.

Nagy rebounded from being involved in an early incident for the runner-up, while Cybalski made a bold move in the late stages to take third ahead of Daniel Hawn and Paul Pepper.

Lane Zardo scored a sixth-place finish in front of Justin Collison, Cole Burrows, Connor Maltese, and Marlie Owen.

Coltin Everingham was the reason for the late-race caution with the engine expiring underneath his hood in the late stages.
