INNISFIL, Ontario — Putting himself at the top of the board in each on-track session throughout the day, Shawn Chenoweth dominated en route to winning the Flyin’ Frank 49 at Sunset Speedway on Sunday.
Chenoweth started off the afternoon by laying down the quickest lap in the practice / qualifying session, putting him on the pole for his heat. He picked up the checkered flag, followed by another in the Trophy Dash all while pacing all the laps in both. Taking the green flag for the 49 lap feature on the pole, he kept a respectable distance between himself and the field throughout en route to the victory. Notably, it marks his second consecutive Super Stock win at Sunset Speedway.
Carson Nagy battled up-front throughout the event through a couple side-by-side battles en route to the runner-up, with Ethan Cournyea’s return to Super Stock competition setting him round out the podium. Paul Pepper scored his second straight top-five in fourth ahead of Gord Shepherd.
Johnny Morrison placed sixth in front of Matt McGrath, Cole Burrows, Jacob Booth, and Dwayne Baker. Current points leader Miles Tyson took the checkered flag in 11th.
