Samantha Shaw Scores First Career Pro Late Model Victory

INNISFIL, Ontario — Starting on the pole, Samantha Shaw led flag-to-flag en route to winning her first career Pro Late Model feature at Sunset Speedway on Sunday.

Shaw showed she had the potential in qualifying, laying down the quickest lap to take the pole for the 50-lap feature. She then broke out to the early advantage, withstanding a mid-race restart and late-race challenge to park it in victory lane.

Current points leader Jordan Howse made his way through the field for a runner-up ahead of Gord Shepherd, Danny Benedict, and Glenn Styres. Rick Spencer-Walt battled inside the top-five throughout, fading back in the final stages for sixth in front of Paul maltese, Kendra Adams, Jeff Hanley, and Keith Temple.

Dustyn Mombourquette was up to seventh, until contact with a lap car saw him sent to the tail of the field. He would restart in 13th on Lap 13, pulling off the track on Lap 30.
