INNISFIL, Ontario — In a battle that came right down to the wire, Chris Allard edged out Calvin Reesor at the line to win at Sunset Speedway on Sunday.
Chris Allard started on pole and looked to have the easy run throughout the feature to victory, until a late-race caution changed that up. He would be forced to hold off a late-race challenge on the restart courtesy of Calvin Reesor. The pair of friends spent the final laps side-by-side with Allard having the edge across the finish line.
The feature was one of the best of the season, with the top-five within car lengths of each other throughout as Phil Givens completed the podium in front of Brandon Steele and Austyn Jennett.
Nathan Booth put together one of his best runs en route to sixth in front of Ben McPherson, who debuted his new ride for the second half of the season. Curtis Burnett was eighth ahead of Jason King and Aidan Harper.
The feature had a pair of cautions, including a three-wide battle gone wrong, resulting in contact between Burnett, Kris Khan, and Josh Berry. Berry got the worst of the ordeal, ending his feature early.
