INNISFIL, Ontario — Chase Stevenson may be fast at Peterborough Speedway weekly, but he proved he can get the job done at another track on Sunday with a trip to Sunset Speedway’s victory lane.
Throughout the event, Stevenson continually worked his way through the traffic ahead to put himself in position to challenge for the win. He would take over the top spot with three laps to go, pacing the remaining laps en route to the checkered flag.
It was an all Peterborough Speedway regular podium with Lyla Sikma and Landon Sellers following Stevenson across the finish line. Ethan Malin rebounded for fourth after a mid-race pit stop for the roof hatch coming loose on his ride in front of Landon Struyk.
Kaiden Beatty made his trek to Sunset worth it with a sixth ahead of Rylan Kamrath, Morgan Moore, Curtis Struyk, and Keegan Moat. Moat led a chunk of the event, but was forced pit side with front end damage. Miya Ford also saw her feature end early as a result of losing the brakes.
Jackson Baker brought out one of the caution flags as a result of a race-ending spin in turns one and two.
