INNISFIL, Ontario — In one of the closest Jr Late Model races of the season, Caleb McConnell would come out on top when the checkered flag waved on Saturday night at Sunset Speedway.
The entire 20-laps of the feature had the fans on the edge of their seat watching the future stars of tomorrow battle it out for the victory. The final five was where the biggest excitement came in watching McConnell, Josh Davenport, and Cole Kamrath go three-wide with inches to spare between each of them for the lead.
Ultimately, McConnell got the edge out ahead and was able to come across the finish line first barely ahead of Davenport. Kamrath placed third with Wyatt Sprung and Ethan Malin completing the top-five.
Ronnie Mason came back from a spin for sixth in front of Morgan Moore and Jackson Baker, while Keegan Moat spun out of fourth on the last lap to be scored ninth. Rylan Kamrath had a strong performance going, until getting loose off of turn four and making contact with the inside turn four wall.
Landon Struyk completed only four laps due to mechanical issues.
The heat victories went to Cole Kamrath and Keegan Moat.
