Shawn Chenoweth Makes Late Race Pass for Super Stock Victory at Sunset Speedway

INNISFIL, Ontario — Making his way through the field, Shawn Chenoweth took the lead with five laps to go en route to winning the Super Stock feature on Saturday night at Sunset Speedway.

Behind the wheel of the No. 89c sponsored by London Recreational Racing and Stewart’s Equipment, the speed was evident all day long out of Chenoweth. However, his first start of the season resulted in him having to take the green flag from the tail of the field. That did not stop him, though, as fans watched him carve his way through, breaking into the top-five on Lap 9, before taking over second at the halfway mark. He then tracked down the race leader, making his move with five laps to go to pace the remaining laps.

Paul Pepper led 25 laps en route to a runner-up finish, ahead of Miles Tyson, Bailey Jacobs, and Jacob Booth. Cole Burrows placed sixth after showing speed in a thrilling battle during qualifying, in front of Johnny Morrison, Matt McGrath, Herb Walters, and Roy Wilkie.

Heat victories went to Shawn Chenoweth and Johnny Morrison. Morrison picked up the victory after a thrilling three-wide battle with Burrows and Tyson.
