Jordan Howse Dominates Junior Hanley Classic at Sunset Speedway

INNISFIL, Ontario — Finding speed when it mattered after the mid-race break, Jordan Howse picked up a dominating victory in the Junior Hanley Classic on Saturday night at Sunset Speedway.

Howse has been put together a memorable campaign in 2024, as evident by picking up a couple other feature wins this season. He kept himself in position throughout the 172-lap event, striking when the iron was hot in taking the top spot on Lap 114. He then led the remaining 52 laps, stretching his advantage over the rest of the field en route to victory lane.

Past APC Auto Parts United Late Model Champion Jo Lawrence made a late-race charge, taking over second with 13 laps to go en route to the runner-up finish. Dwayne Baker finished third, ahead of pole sitter Jake Sheridan and Rick Spencer-Walt. Spencer-Walt had to drive from the rear of the field after a mid-race pit stop for sway bar issues, making his way as high as third before the part broke once again.

Billy Zardo consistently ran inside the top-10 en route to sixth ahead of Travis Hallyburton, Josh Stade, Kendra Adams, and Gord Shepherd.

The race was relatively clean throughout, with just a couple cautions across the 172 laps for incidents on-track – a single car spin, and a flat tire for another competitor.
