PETERBOROUGH, Ontario — After coming close over the first couple weeks of the season, John Baker Jr. had all the pieces come together to win the pair of Bill Pickford Memorial features and take home the overall win.
John Baker Jr. ran up front throughout the first 30 lap feature, holding down the runner-up spot until the closing stages of the race where was able to make his move for the lead. He led a single lap – the one that mattered, though, as it was the last lap for the victory.
The second feature later on that night saw him run second until 10 laps to go, taking over the top spot to pace the final 10 laps of the 31 lap feature en route to the checkered flag.
The pair of victories follow a pair of seconds and thirds to start the 2024 Ontario Modified Racing Series season. He also has a heat win at Peterborough Speedway earlier this season to his credit.
John Baker Jr is back in action at Flamboro Speedway on August 3.
John Baker Jr.’s 2024 campaign will be supported by GEN 3 electrical , rotechrepair.ca Whitby South medical, Oshawa Hearing Aid clinic , MAK funeral home , vampire Racing, The Jube pub and patio, Cheryl’s decor and more , Robinson Solutions, Fotheringham bookkeeping, and his whole family.
