Jordan Howse Edges Out Mombourquette for Pro Late Model Glory

INNISFIL, Ontario — In a battle that went right down to the finish line, Jordan Howse edged out Dustyn Mombourquette to win the Pro Late Model feature on Saturday night at Sunset Speedway.

Mombourquette was in control, having started on the pole and found his way to get away from the field. Though as the laps began to wind down, his advantage over the field shrunk with each passing lap as Howse began to close the gap. Getting alongside with five laps remaining, the pair stayed that way until the checkered flag waved.

Jordan Howse would pick up the victory by 0.072 seconds over Dustyn Mombourquette, with Travis Hallyburton completing the podium after running second through the first half of the event. Lane Zardo’s late-race charge saw him pick up fourth ahead of Gord Shepherd.

Kendra Adams ran up front throughout the event en route to sixth in front of Paul Maltese, Dwayne Baker, Dale Shaw, and Tyler Liscum.

Parker Traves’ rookie Late Model campaign netted him an 11th-place finish, followed by Jacob Mercer, Samantha Shaw and Keith Temple. Cory McAllister pulled off with six laps to go due to brake issues.
