INNISFIL, Ontario — When the checkered flag waved on Saturday at Sunset Speedway, a couple new faces found themselves battling each other for the win.

Familiar to having success at Peterborough Speedway with a championship, Bailey Jacobs found himself starting up front in the feature on Saturday night, hopeful of translating the success over. He took advantage of the lead on Lap 1, seperating himself from the field behind him.

Rookie Jacob Booth was second throughout, and began to close the gap as the laps neared conclusion. He would find himself on the rear bumper of the No. 60 with a handful laps left, looking for a way by. He was able to get alongside, with the pair remaining that way over the final four laps to the checkered flag.

Ultimately, it’d be Bailey Jacobs edging out Jacob Booth for the checkered flag, with 2023 Peterborough Speedway Champion Miles Tyson completing the podium. Paul Pepper and Dwayne Baker rounded out the top-five in a clean event.

Heat wins went to Bailey Jacobs and Jacob Booth.
