INNISFIL, Ontario — After coming close the first two weeks of the season, Chris Allard made it happen on Saturday night at Sunset Speedway in the Bone Stock division.
Starting at the front of the field, Chris Allard wasted no time putting the No. 76 out front ahead of the field. He then pushed for a gap ahead of those behind them, maintaining it all the way until the checkered flag. Curtis Burnett scored a season-best runner-up ahead of last week’s winner Jordan Owen. Kris Khan and Calvin Reesor completed the top-five after a great battle that came down to the last lap.
Josh Berry ran inside the top-five till the final laps en route to sixth in front of Aidan Harper, Austyn Jennett, Steve Oakes, and Ben McPherson. Jack Bird was 11th, followed by Brandon Burnett, Willow King, Jason King, Matt Christina, and Tiffany Booth. Karlie Wilman failed to finish after completing 14 of the 20 laps due to a mechanical issue.
The Bone Stocks had a second feature on Saturday night, as a result of making up the event that got rained out back in May. The full field invert saw Jack Bird start at the front, taking the lead and driving away from the field en route to his first career checkered flag. The race was called with just 10 laps complete as a result of weather.
Unofficially, per race monitor minus the involved cars, it’d be Chris Allard finishing second, who utilised the high side to drive through the field after starting at the tail. Aidan Harper, Curtis Burnett, and Calvin Reesor completed the top-five ahead of Jordan Owen, Steve Oakes, Ben Mcpherson, Jason King, Brandon Burnett, and Matt Christina.
Austyn Jennett and Josh Berry ran inside the top-five for much of the event, but contact battling for second sent the No. 9 around for the race’s first caution. The second yellow and race-ending flag came out on the restart with Tiffany Booth facing the wrong way in turns one and two. Willow King and Karlie Wilman rounded out the field.
