Jason Metcalfe Scores Hat Trick En Route to First Career Victory

PETERBOROUGH, Ontario — Dreams come true, and that was the case for Jason Metcalfe as he scored the victory in the Outlaw Midgets presented by Canadian Tire Innisfil feature on Saturday night at Peterborough Speedway.

From the drop of the first green flag in qualifying, the potential for Metcalfe to make it a memorable night was there. He was strong in both of his heat races, picking up a pair of checkered flags. A strong starting spot for the feature allowed him to run inside the top-two throughout, taking the lead with just seven laps on the board. Despite being heavily challenged by a pair of past feature winners, he did not get raveled en route to reaching victory lane.

Nick Spiesz backed up his checkered flag from Sunset Speedway last month with a runner-up after leading some laps, while Mikey Homewood completed the podium. Rob McCall’s return to the series was met with success in a fourth, with Fred Homewood placing fifth.

Rookie Brett Dorion showed speed en route to sixth ahead of Adam Tyo, Kevin Spiesz, Kurt Lawton, and Russ Couture. Glenn Raymond did not take the green flag.

Heat victories went to Mikey Homewood (x2) and Jason Metcalfe (x2). The full results from those are available on the series website.

The Outlaw Midgets presented by Canadian Tire Innisfil are back in action on Saturday, June 29, and Sunday, June 30 with their Canada Day long weekend double header at Sauble Speedway.

The Outlaw Midgets are proud to be sponsored by Canadian Tire Innisfil, Dayco Power, Falcon Fire & Services, and TM Branding for the 2024 season.
