With seven top-five’s and 10 top-10’s throughout the 2023 season, it’s safe to say it turned out to be a good year for Cash Ireton.
“It was a fun season, in which I learned a lot and had lots of fun, but can’t wait for it to start again,” he commented.
The consistency allowed him to cap off the season with the Sunset Speedway Bone Stock Championship, which marked one of his two most memorable moments from 2023. The other was watching his teammate Jay Cutting jump behind the wheel of the No. 54 and score the victory at Fall Velocity.
“We have very good drivers with a lot of competition,” Ireton commented. “Still lots to learn, though. It was lots of fun to run with Jay Cutting and to learn from him.”
Ireton will return to the Bone Stock division at Sunset Speedway with his sights set on back-to-back championships, while set to “try something new with racing mini stock” as well.
For Ireton, it’s easy to see why he got involved in motorsports, having grown up watching his father and uncle Smokin’ Joe Ireton race with lots of success through those years.
However, when asked about his racing hero, it’s a pair of other drivers that came to mind.
“Jim and Jay Cutting are my racing heroes,” he commented. “They have taught me so much and have stood by my side when I was learning. I’m so glad and thankful to have them on my team.”
