Whether it was behind the wheel of his super stock or his mini stock, Brandon Feeney made sure to leave it all on the track this past season at Peterborough Speedway.
The success was seen on-track as evident by placing third in points for both, with multiple heat wins and podium finishes on the track.
“I think my Peterborough success leads from a fine balance of aggressive and patience,” Feeney explained. “Knowing when it’s few laps to go its time to be more aggressive but lap 1 isn’t time or place. Peterborough rewards drivers that can adapt inside the car.”
He then capped it off the Autumn Colours Classic by racing three different classes in one day – 11th in the Electric City 167 behind the wheel of a late model owned by Gary Hannah, 12th in a Knightworks Design OSCAAR Hot Rod owned by Art Rodgers, and seventh in his own Just Foam It OSCAAR Modified.
“My favorite moment of season was actually Autumn Colours with how happy teams and car owners were with the results I brought to their car,” he commented. :Modifieds have always been a dream to try and honestly reminded me how fun it is just to wheel a fast car that’s planted. I left so much speed on table but learning curves as driver can fix that.”
Looking back on the season, Feeney says the biggest thing he learned was focusing on one car and having fun can lead to the best results.
But unfortunately, right now, the upcoming 2024 has “no plans to be on the race track at the moment,” however Feeney says could change if sponsor people come knocking.
You can still expect him to be involved in the sport, though, as he will be hosting his new podcast The Feeney Call. The experience so far has been “fun and stressful at the same time” as lining up entertaining guests while still racing can be a fine balance. One of his favorite guests so far has been Dan Price, as he is “just someone I like being around and talking to in everyday life and really showed thus may take off, but all the guest have been fun to learn and talk to.”
When it comes to the future of the show, Feeney admits it’d be great to have Kenny Wallace or Dale Earnhardt Jr. on as a guest, but also loves hearing the diverse stories from all different types of racers.
