Rick Spencer-Walt Scores Podium at Delaware Speedway

LONDON, Ontario — Behind the wheel of two different cars in one day, Rick Spencer-Walt was able to score a podium finish on Saturday at Delaware Speedway.

Driving the No. 6w Javelin Hot Rod owned by Rob Bromley, there was speed through qualifying with a second place finish in his qualifying heat.

Taking the green from sixth in the feature, Spencer-Walt wasted no time making his way forward as he took over the third spot with just three laps on the board. He then moved into second a couple laps later, ready to chase down the leader for the top spot.

Spencer-Walt would get his opportunity to challenge for the lead on a late-race restart, but contact from the leader resulted in him being sent up to the third lane. He dropped back to third in the process, unable to make up the lost ground with a third-place finish.

Although not originally on the docket, Spencer-Walt got the call to drive the No. 48 Late Model normally piloted by Dwayne Baker for the Castrol Edge Great Canadian 200. After qualifying 27th for the event, he began to make his way forward over the course of the long run, finding himself in the top-10 at the halfway mark. He looked to continue moving up positions when alternator issues resulted in a loss of power, ending his race early.

Spencer-Walt will be back in action this coming weekend on Saturday, September 30 at Flamboro Speedway for Frostoberfest, driving a hot rod for Rob Bromley and a modified for ADAMS Motorsports.
