Wyatt Sprung Takes Home $1,100 Prize for Jr Late Model Feature Victory

INNISFIL, Ontario — Battling his way to the lead at the halfway mark, Wyatt Sprung drove away from the field to win the Jr Late Model feature on Sunday afternoon at Sunset Speedway.

Sprung, who had been victorious earlier this season at the track, was one of the favourites entering into the event and showed his speed during qualifying with a heat victory. This allowed him to start up front, which he took full advantage in battling for the lead in the beginning stages with Cole Kamrath and Keegan Moat.

Although Kamrath grabbed the advantage early, he was unable to escape Sprung who kept right with him. A series of cautions through the middle portion of the race slowed the action, but allowed Sprung to set up the pass he wanted for the top spot.

Wyatt Sprung put the No. 92 out front on Lap 8, pacing the final seven laps through the chaos to score the victory. Todd Davenport out-battled Cole Kamrath on the final restart for the runner-up spot, with Oliver Gibbons and Lyla Sikma. Sikma was one of several drivers who found themselves involved in an incident throughout the event.

Kaiden Beatty, who was turned around facing the wrong way at the halfway mark, rebounded for sixth in front of Rylan Kamrath, Miya Ford, Landon Sellers, and Chase Stevenson. Carter Kamrath ran into issues with a couple laps to go en route to placing 13th, while Landon Struyk only completed nine laps. Morgan Moore made contact with turn four wall en route to 13th ahead of Keegan Moat.
