Jake Spencer-Walt Continues Mini Stock Learning Curve

INNISFIL, Ontario — Since finding himself behind the wheel of his mustang for the first time, Jake Spencer-Walt has continued to build upon his experience since then at Sunset Speedway.

Spencer-Walt was back behind the wheel of the No. 31 for the Allan Lankin Cup on Sunday, September 3. Battling against 40 cars to make the field, Spener-Walt laid down a lap of 17.194 seconds, setting him up to start mid-pack for one of the two Last Chance Qualifiers. The third generation racer showed speed en route to crossing the finish line in sixth. Unfortunately, it saw him miss the big show by three positions.

He returned back to the 1/3-mile oval six days later, ready to keep gaining experience behind the wheel. He turned a lot of heads in his first heat by battling side-by-side with Jacob Sutcliffe for a couple laps for the top spot, en route to a runner-up finish. He backed it up with a fifth in the second qualifier.

Starting mid-pack, he battled alongside some of the best ever to grace the division through the first half of the feature. He ultimately pulled off with 10 laps to go as a result of fighting continued handling issues. He was credited with a 15th-place finish.

The third generation racer is proud to be supported by Quarries Tire & Auto, GreenSteelRoof.ca, G.D. Coates Used Car Superstore, B&B General Contracting, Dunlop Billiards Sports Bar & Eatery, ImageWraps.ca., The Frame Shop, Short Track Musings, and Two Speed Motorsports.
