Jay Cutting Victorious at Sunset Speedway as Teammate Cash Ireton Crowned Champion

INNISFIL, Ontario — It was a good night for those involved with the team of Cash Ireton and Jay Cutting in the form of a pair of celebrations.

Brandon Steele won the first heat in front of Ireton, Aidan Harper, Ben McPherson, Jordan Owen, John Haines, Greg Duncan, and Kris Khan.

Josh Berry was victorious in the second qualifier ahead of his teammate Chris Allard, Cutting, Nicholas Reece, Steve Oakes, Mark Allan, Aundrea Lusk, and Calvin Reesor. Lusk only completed seven laps following contact with Cutting down the backstretch battling for third, while Reesor ran seven laps due to mechanical issues.

Brandon Steele went for the daily double, followed by Ireton, McPherson, Owen, Haines, and Curtis Burnett.

Jay Cutting won the final heat in front of Berry, Reece, Lusk, Reesor, Allard, Steve Oakes, and Karlie Wilman.

When it came time for the feature, Calvin Reesor broke out to the early lead in hopes of turning around his bad luck this season, but was unable to escape the field. He found Jay Cutting hot on his heels, looking for a way by with each lap that passed. The pair found themselves side-by-side as Cash Ireton ran close behind, with Brandon Steele looking to fight his way through traffic.

The battle lasted most of the event, with Jay Cutting edging out Calvin Reesor by a mere bumper at the finish line for the victory. Cash Ireton crossed the line in fourth, but was bumped up to third in the final restarts, enabling him to be crowned the 2023 Bone Stock Champion.
