Gord Shepherd Paces Second Half of Super Stock Feature at Sunset Speedway

INNISFIL, Ontario — Taking the lead at the halfway mark, Gord Shepherd led the rest of the way en route to winning the Super Stock feature at Sunset Speedway.

The first heat was quite possibly the race of the season with the amount of the dicing throughout. It began with a duel between Dan Archibald and Gord Shepherd, with Shepherd fading back on the third lap, before heading pit side on Lap 6. Bailey Jacobs then stepped up to challenge Archibald, with a love-tap traded between the pair. Jacobs got the advantage, but Archibald tried to retake it utilizing the crossover.

Cory McAllister then made the move three-wide to take the lead, with Jacobs trying a crossover to retake the advantage. Cory McAllister won ahead of Bailey Jacobs, Brandon McFerran, Dan Archibald, Nick Tooley, and Gord Shepherd.

Matt McGrath won the second heat in front of Johnny Morrison, Connor Maltese, Coltin Everingham, and Cole Burrows.

Cory McAllister went for the daily double ahead of Shepherd, Brandon McFerran, Jacobs, Tooley, and Archibald.

Connor Maltese won the final heat in front of Morrison, Everingham, McGrath, and Burrows.

When it came time for the feature, Gord Shepherd started mid-pack, and worked his way forward throughout, taking the lead at the halfway mark. He then led the final half of the feature en route to picking up the checkered flag. Johnny Morrison ran inside the top-five throughout for second ahead of Cory McAllister, Bailey Jacobs, and Connor Maltese.

Matt McGrath picked up a sixth in front of Cole Burrows, Coltin Everingham, Dan Archibald, Brandon McFerran, and Nick Tooley.
