Wally Wilson Scores Top-Five Finish at Sunset Speedway

INNISFIL, Ontario — Leading laps in the feature, Wally Wilson battled to a top-five finish on Saturday night at Sunset Speedway.

Wilson started off the night by laying down a lap of 14.955 seconds to place him fifth on the board in qualifying.

Starting on the front row for the feature, Wilson launched out to the lead, and put a car length on the field as they battled behind him. His advantage lasted until the fourth lap, when he was passed for the lead by eventual race winner Andy Kamrath.

Wilson continued to battle throughout the remaining 26 laps, making contact with the right side rear tire and the wall as he pushed for track position. The fight was worth it, as he’d ultimately cross the finish line in fifth.

Wilson will be back behind the wheel of the No. 69 Modified at Sunset Speedway on Saturday, September 2.

Thanks to The Fyre Place & Patio Shop, HAVE1.COM, Napoleon, Wilson CANUSA Sale, McColl Racing Enterprises, and Stickers N’ Scuff’s for the support this season of the modified effort.
