INNISFIL, Ontario — After winning the Jr Late Model Championship last season, Jake Spencer-Walt made his highly anticipated Mini Stock debut on Saturday night at Sunset Speedway.
Fresh off learning how to drive standard just the day before, Jake Spencer-Walt stuck with the pack after starting at the back, looking to make a couple passes. He would go around for a quick spin, but quickly got back going the right way. He tried to make a couple passes before the checkered, crossing the finish line in seventh.
The second heat saw him show more speed than the first, running the high side as he battled against a couple competitors for positions throughout en route to sixth.
When it came time for the feature, Spencer-Walt battled at the back of the field in a tight pack for 11th on back. He got loose off of the corner in the final five laps, barely keeping the No. 31 Mustang off of the wall. He then pulled into the infield a lap later, done for the event. He was credited with a 16th-place finish.
The third generation racer is proud to be supported by Quarries Tire & Auto, GreenSteelRoof.ca, G.D. Coates Used Car Superstore, B&B General Contracting, Dunlop Billiards Sports Bar & Eatery, ImageWraps.ca., The Frame Shop, Short Track Musings, and Two Speed Motorsports.
