SAUBLE BEACH, Ontario — Making his second appearance on the APC Auto Parts United Late Model Series Tour in the Stewart’s & Kubota 100 at Sauble Speedway, Cole Quinton saw improvement from his debut back in June.
Cole Quinton showed speed during the qualifying session, laying down a lap of 14.483 seconds to place him 11th on the starting grid for the 100-lap feature later on that night.
Although he fell back in positions through the first quarter of the event to the tail of the field, Quinton began to methodically work his way back forward through the traffic. He was able to regain his 11th starting position once again on Lap 55, poised to challenge for a top-10 finish.
Unfortunately, a lack of cautions throughout the event did not allot him the opportunity to catch up the front half of the field, crossing the finish line in 11th.
As previously mentioned, it’s an improvement on his APC Series debut, which took place back in June with a 19th-place finish at Flamboro Speedway.
Quinton has scored six top-10’s in eight races this season, including a career-best fifth.
The rookie returns to Flamboro Speedway this weekend, where he currently sits second in the championship standings behind the defending APC Series Champion J.R. Fitzpatrick.
Cole Quinton Racing is proud to be supported by Stage it With Style, Just Foam It, Spira Fire Protection, Wheeler Construction, JT Excavating, Pita Pit Orangeville, Nick’s Journey, All Team Sports, Elma Steel, Hyde-Whipp Heating & Air Conditioning, Lay’N It Down Flooring, DJD Graphics, Brokerlink Insurance, Blue Triton, and Hy-Grade Steel Roofing.
