Rick Spencer-Walt Encounters Mechanical Issues in Steve Slaughter Classic

INNISFIL, Ontario — After starting off the afternoon showing speed at Sunset Speedway, the main event would not go as warranted for Spencer-Walt Motorsports.

Rick Spencer-Walt was fast in qualifying, laying down a lap of 14.587 seconds to put the No. 31W at the top of the board.

An invert for the 75-lap feature saw him take the green flag in fifth, ready to make his way forward. The charge to the front happened quickly, with Spencer-Walt up to second with just 15 laps on the board. He looked to chase down Dale Shaw for the race lead, however would be unable to with the handling fading away.

Battling a loose condition, Spencer-Walt slipped back to fourth by Lap 27. The issues only continued to grow from there, with the No. 31W heading down pit road on Lap 43, done for the event. Spencer-Walt was credited with a 14th-place finish.

Spencer-Walt Motorsports’ Late Model efforts are proud to be supported by Struyk Energy Systems Ltd., Two Speed Motorsports, CM Precision, Byers Equipment Motorsports, Jim Wilson Chevrolet Buick GMC, Imagewraps.ca, Heidi’s RV Superstore, Short Track Musings, Motorsports Alley, and Stickers N’ Scuffs Podcast with Cam K & Graydon Bunn.
