PETERBOROUGH, Ontario — It does not matter whether it is four or eight cylinders, Brandon Feeney finds a way to have success with it at Peterborough Speedway.
Behind the wheel of the eight-cylinder Super Stock, he took the lead at the halfway mark to score the victory in his first heat. He put together another good run in the second qualifier, setting him up for the feature.
When it came time for the main event, he led the opening two laps and found himself running inside the top-three till the halfway mark. He ultimately slipped back a few spots, but was able to hold on despite gear issues en route to a fifth.
Notably, dating back to last year, he has scored 22 top-10 finishes in the super stock, including 11 top-five’s over the last 18 events. He currently sits third in the standings, 40 points out of the lead.
Behind the wheel of the four-cylinder Mini Stock, he led all eight laps in the first heat en route to capturing the checkered flag. Feeney then made his way forward in the second qualifier en route to a runner-up finish.
Come time for the feature, he battled inside the top-five throughout the entire 20 lap distance, moving into the third spot with eight laps to go. He tried to track down the leaders, though was unsuccessful as he crossed the finish line in third. It marks his fourth straight podium with the Mini Stock.
