Rick Spencer-Walt and Travis Hallyburton Victorious in Late Model Features at Sunset Speedway

INNISFIL, Ontario — Following a couple weeks ago, Rick Spencer-Walt and Travis Hallyburton were the source of headlines leaving Sunset Speedway. They both found a way to stay in the spotlight, but in a better form with each picking up a feature victory on Saturday night.

Rick Spencer-Walt started off the night with speed by laying down the quickest lap in time trials at 14.452 seconds to place the No. 31W Late Model on the pole. Although he grabbed the advantage off the green flag, he did not go without challenge as Dwayne Baker fought on each of the restarts to try and get by for the top spot.

Even with a green-white-checkered restart to cap off the race, Rick Spencer-Walt came out on top with the victory ahead of Dwayne Baker, Gord Shepherd, Travis Hallyburton, and Jordan Howse. Billy Zardo was sixth in front of Samantha Shaw, Dustyn Mombourquette, Al Inglis, and Kendra Adams. Jeff Hanley’s return behind the wheel continued with an 11th, followed by Paul Maltese and Norm Stoddard.

An invert of four placed Travis Hallyburton on pole for the second feature later that night, which he took sole advantage of. He got himself a car length gap over Gord Shepherd in the early stages, and maintained it en route to victory. Dwayne Baker made the late-race pass for third ahead of Rick Spencer-Walt and Samantha Shaw. Billy Zardo placed sixth once again, this time in front of Dustyn Mombourquette, Jeff Hanley, Kendra Adam sand Al Inglis. Norm Stoddard and Paul Maltese rounded out the field.
