INNISFIL, Ontario — Finding his way to the front on Lap 5, Lane Zardo drove away from the field en route to winning the Super Stock feature on Saturday night at Sunset Speedway.
Lane Zardo won the first heat in front of Johnny Morrison, Bailey Jacobs, Carson Nagy, Nick Tooley, and Cole Burrows.
Dan Archibald was victorious in the second qualifier ahead of Cory McAllister, Cayden Lapcevich, Matt McGrath, Coltin Everingham, and Connor Maltese.
When it came time for the main event, Lane Zardo wasted no time in moving his way through the field, escaping an incident on the opening lap and passing Cory McAllister for the top spot on the fifth lap. He then led the remaining 25 laps in commanding fashion en route to winning. McAllister held on for a runner-up finish in front of Carson Nagy, Nick Tooley, and Matt McGrath.
Cayden Lapcevich placed sixth in his return behind the wheel ahead of Bailey Jacobs, Cole Burrows, Coltin Everingham, and Connor Maltese. Dan Archibald started off the race strong, but was taken out by issues on Lap 4. Unfortunately when he spun from his issues, Johnny Morrison was collected in the incident, sustaining heavy front end damage. Morrison was at the back of the field after being deemed an involved car when McGrath spun on Lap 1 in turns one and two.
