INNISFIL, Ontario — In a weekend that saw a pair of No. 69 Modifieds run at the same time, there was success for Wally Wilson Racing along the way.
Ready to chase after the $50,000 put up as part of the NTN Bearings Shootout, Wally Wilson made the trip to Sunset Speedway. He would lay down a lap of 15.055 seconds, setting him up to start sixth for the 30 lap feature.
He battled hard from the drop of the green flag, running his quickest lap of the race at the halfway mark en route to a seventh-place finish.
Wilson called upon Sauble Speedway Late Model regular Zach Sprung to drive the other modified at Full Throttle Motor Speedway to keep him in the Just Foam It OSCAAR Modified point standings. Sprung put together a pair of solid qualifiers, placing seventh and fifth respectively. Unfortunately, he had mechanical issues that prevented him from taking the green flag in the feature.
The next race for the Wilson behind the wheel of a modified will take place on Saturday, August 5 at Peterborough Speedway with the OSCAAR Modified tour.
Thanks to The Fyre Place & Patio Shop, HAVE1.COM, Napoleon, Wilson CANUSA Sale, McColl Racing Enterprises, and Stickers N’ Scuff’s for the support this season of the modified effort.
