A.J. Emms Victorious in OSCAAR Modified Feature at Full Throttle Motor Speedway

DURHAM, Ontario —- Battling throughout the Just Foam It OSCAAR Modified feature presented by Just Foam It paid off for A.J. Emms, as he picked up the victory in Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC victory lane.

Dale Reinhart got his first JRS Auctions heat win of the year ahead of A.J. Emms, Norman Newman, Brad Pearsall, Ryan Dick, Alvin McNicol, and Zach Sprung.

T.J Edwards was victorious in the second qualifier in front of Gary McLean, Bryan Batty, Tyler Liscum, Tim Gordon, and David Mathers.

A.J. Emms won the third heat, followed by Edwards, Pearsall, Gary McLean, Dick, Mathers, and Liscum. Liscum failed to finish following contact with Edwards on Lap 5, with Mathers only completing nine laps due to a spin.

Bryan Batty was victorious in the final qualifier ahead of Reinhart, Newman, McNicol, Sprung, Gordon, and Brent McLean. Gordon and McLean failed to finish after contact on the start of the race.

The 40-lap feature would be led to green by Brad Pearsall and Norman Newman, with Pearsall grabbing the early advantage ahead of the field. Dale Reinhart wasted no time moving up into the runner-up position, and began reeling in Pearsall for the race lead.

The pair would get side-by-side for the race lead, with contact occurring between the pair around the tight quarter-mile oval. They would get hooked together coming off of turn two, opening the top side for Norman Newman to get the run.

T.J Edwards made his move at the same time, passing the trio underneath to take over the race lead. Newman moved into second, with Reinhart and Pearsall behind them. A.J. Emms would get by Pearsall for fourth, with Pearsall bringing out the caution a lap later on Lap 12 with significant contact with the outside turn four wall. The restart saw the race’s second yellow flag, with an incident in turn four involving Brian Wilson and Bryan Batty.

Edwards got a good restart, with Emms slipping into second ahead of Newman and Reinhart. The four drove away from the field, though spread out from each other, as the race hit the halfway mark. It seemed like it’d be a run of the mill finish until the caution came out with four laps remaining for a spin by Tyler Liscum.

The final restart would see Edwards get the advantage on the final restart, crossing the finish line ahead of the field. However, following technical inspection, the No. 34 Modified was disqualified as a result of a technical infraction.

A.J. Emms would be credited with his eighth career series victory, marking his 12th consecutive podium finish. Norman Newman tied his career-best finish with a runner-up ahead of Gary McLean, Dale Reinhart, and Brent McLean.

Ryan Dick scored his fifth consecutive top-10 in sixth in front of Bryan Batty, Tyler Liscum, Brian Wilson, and Brad Pearsall. David Mathers rounded out the field, while Wally Wilson and Tim Gordon failed to take the green flag.
