DURHAM, Ontario — In a pair of drama filled features on Saturday night for the Fun Stocks at Full Throttle Motor Speedway, it’d be Jacob Booth and Dustin Johnson reaching victory lane.
Jacob Booth had a big hill to climb in the first feature, starting in the back half of the field. He did not let that deter him as he immediately began making ground, breaking into the top-five with just four laps on the board. He then kept making his way forward methodically, taking over the lead on Lap 13. He led the final three laps en route to picking up the checkered flag.
Nathan Dettweiler held on for second after dominating till that point ahead of Curtis Halliday, Kyle Gareau, and Taddum Grein. Colin Gade faded on the last lap back to sixth in front of Kyle Fleming, Jeff Rumble, Dustin Johnson, and Tyler Beitz. Craig Vanalstine was the first car one lap down in 11th, followed by Scott Tinsley, Peyton Lewis, Cooper Donaldson, Donna Tolton, and Steven Hubbs.
The invert played right into Dustin Johnson’s hands, as he took the lead early and did not look back, cruising away from the field to pick up the checkered flag in the second feature. Jacob Booth drove his way through up to second by Lap 4, but was unable to close the gap between himself and Johnson for the daily double.
Nathan Detweiler completed the podium, as Taddum Grein and Kyle Fleming rounded out the top-five. Curtis Halliday went for a spin on the last lap en route to sixth ahead of Kyle Gareau, Jeff Rumble, Peyton Lewis, and Colin Gade. Tyler Beitz was 11th this time around, followed by Scott Tinsley, Craig Vanalstine, Donna Tolton, and Cooper Donaldson.
