Mechanical Gremlins Take Jake Spencer-Walt Out of Contention

INNISFIL, Ontario — Looking like he was headed to victory lane, Jake Spencer-Walt saw his night end early as a result of mechanical issues at Sunset Speedway.

Unfortunately, the issues began early in the night for Spencer-Walt as he failed to start either of the qualifying heats due to the car not wanting to stay running.

The Spencer-Walt Motorsports team went to work, looking as though they had the gremlins worked out in time for the feature. It showed at the drop of the green flag, as he grabbed the advantage and looked to drive away from the field. However under caution after a fellow competitor spun out with a couple laps to go, the car would quit running, ending his night early. He was credited with a third-place finish.

As a result, Spencer-Walt drops to second in the standings, nine markers out of the points lead.

Spencer-Walt has scored five podiums in six races this season, including victories at Sunset Speedway and Peterborough Speedway.

The third generation racer is proud to be supported by Quarries Tire & Auto, GreenSteelRoof.ca, G.D. Coates Used Car Superstore, B&B General Contracting, Dunlop Billiards Sports Bar & Eatery, ImageWraps.ca., The Frame Shop, Short Track Musings, and Two Speed Motorsports.
