LONDON, Ontario — To be successful on the half-mile at Delaware Speedway, you need to have speed. That’s what both TJ Edwards and Jamie Cox processed this past weekend in the OSCAAR Nationals presented by JRS Auctions as they were the pair of Just Foam it OSCAAR Modified feature winners.
Bryan Batty bounced back after motor issues at Sauble Speedway to win the first JRS Auctions heat on Friday evening in front of Jeff Showler, Jason Keen, Ryan Dick, Dale Reinhart, Hudson Nagy, TJ Marshall, Steve Trendell, Chris Milwain, and Paul Townsend.
Jamie Cox won the second qualifier ahead of TJ Edwards, Alvin McNicol, Tyler Liscum, David Mathers, Wally Wilson, Norman Newman, and Marshall Schrenk. Notably, Newman and Schrenk both ran into issues during the heat to prevent them from completing all 10 laps, while Brad Pearsall did not take the green flag.
When it came time for the feature, TJ Edwards utilized patience in making his way forward to the front of the field after starting fifth on the grid. He worked his way to second in the opening 10 laps, before putting himself on the tail of then-race leader Ryan Dick. He stayed close, making his move just past the halfway mark to put the No. 34 out front of the field.
TJ Edwards then led the remaining laps en route to visiting Queenston Chevrolet Buick GMC victory lane, with Ryan Dick holding onto second as Marshall Schrenk completed the podium. Norman Newman drove from the back of the field for a fourth, with Jamie Cox placing fifth following a mid-race pit stop. Steve Trendell rebounded from his wreck at Sauble for a sixth, in front of Tyler Liscum, Paul Townsend, Dale Reinhart, and David Mathers.
TJ Marshall was 11th in his first start of the year, followed by Jason Keen and Jeff Showler, who got together just past the halfway mark of the feature. Bryan Batty, Hudson Nagy, Wally Wilson, and Alvin McNicol rounded out the field.
After several teams put in the late-night oil, with some working around the clock, the majority of the competitors returned on Saturday in hopes of success.
Marshall Schrenk won the first JRS Auctions heat at his home track in front of Jason Keen, Jeff Showler, Tyler Liscum, Paul Townsend, David Mathers, and Wally Wilson.
Bryan Batty rebounded for the second qualifier victory ahead of Jamie Cox, Norman Newman, Ryan Dick, TJ Edwards, Dale Reinhart, Steve Trendell, and Alvin McNicol.
Starting on the second row for the feature, Jamie Cox wasted no time making his way forward to the lead. He then drove away from the field en route to becoming the series’ third different feature winner of the season. Marshall Schrenk put together a solid run as he ran inside the top-three all race long to place second. Jeff Showler crossed the finish in third, but was disqualified in post-race technical inspection. As a result, Bryan Batty rounded out the podium in front of TJ Edwards and Jason Keen.
Dale Reinhart was sixth ahead of Ryan Dick, Norman Newman, Steve Trendell, and Tyler Liscum. Paul Townsend, Wally Wilson, David Mathers, Alvin Nicol, and Jeff Showler rounded out the field.
The next event for the Just Foam It OSCAAR Modifieds is at Full Throttle Motor Speedway on Saturday, July 15.
