Wally Wilson Suffers Mechanical Failure at Sauble Speedway

SAUBLE BEACH, Ontario — Despite starting off the day strongly, the feature did not go as planned for Wally Wilson at Sauble Speedway on Saturday night.

Racing in front of friends and family with his primary sponsor The Fyre Place & Patio Shop supporting the event, Wally Wilson avoided the carnage all around him in the first heat to score a fourth-place finish. He then battled throughout the second qualifier, running side-by-side throughout to come out with another fourth.

The pair of top-five’s placed him in the invert for the starting line-up for the 40-lap feature, with Wilson earning the right to start on pole. Although he faded back a bit on the initial drop of the green flag, he was able to find himself comfortably in line, ready to put together a solid feature in the team’s back-up car. Unfortunately, it did not go as planned, as brake issue sent him pit side on Lap 22 and out of the event.

WWR will look to turn things around at the next OSCAAR event which is scheduled to take place at Delaware Speedway, with a double-header on Saturday, June 30 and Sunday, July 1.

Thanks to The Fyre Place & Patio Shop, HAVE1.COM, Napoleon, Wilson CANUSA Sale, McColl Racing Enterprises, and Stickers N’ Scuff’s for the support this season.
