Jake Spencer-Walt Feature Ends Early with Mechanical Issues at Peterborough

PETERBOROUGH, Ontario — Getting the call to fill in for Chase Cousineau at Peterborough Speedway, Jake Spencer-Walt was leading until mechanical issues took him out of contention.

Spencer-Walt started off the night well, pacing all the laps in the first heat en route to the checkered flag. He then took the lead on the third lap of the second qualifier en route to another checkered flag on the night.

He would roll a sixth for the feature, setting him to start on the third row for the 15-lap main event. Spencer-Walt wasted no time moving forward, running second with just two laps on the board. He would challenge for the lead, battling against Carson Cousineau before taking the top spot. He then led all the way until a caution with four to go, when the chain came off under the yellow flag to end his event early. He was credited with a ninth-place finish.

Prior to this event, Spencer-Walt had scored third podium in three races this season, following victories at Sunset Speedway and Peterborough Speedway.

Special thanks to Bobby, Chase, and the Cousineau family for giving Jake Spencer-Walt the opportunity this past Saturday night.
