Tyler Seaboyer Completes Cindrella Story with Return Back to Victory Lane

INNISFIL, Ontario — It was August 2021, where fans witnessed one of the biggest wrecks in the Mini Stock division in seeing Tyler Seaboyer make significant contact with the frontstretch wall at Sunset Speedway.

The countless hours spent rebuilding the car from that incident paid off in spades for Seaboyer, as he dominated the feature on Saturday night.

Doug Butler kicked off the night in victory lane, winning the first heat ahead of Bryan Penny, Tyler Seaboyer, Jason D’Antimo, and Cole Ecker. Chandler Bos’ return saw him victorious in the second qualifier, in front of Doug Butler, Bob Phinnemore, Coleridge Phinnemore, Jacob Sutcliffe. The second race was not without incident, as Ryder White tagged Wyatt Sutcliffe, with him going around and collecting Jacob Sutcliffe. Then Laila Walser got sideways in turn two, going around and collecting John Bird.

Tyler Seaboyer picked up the checkered flag in the third heat, followed by D’Antimo, Butler, Penny, and Cameron McGlashan. John Bird rebounded to win the fourth qualifier, ahead of Bob Phinnemore, Jacob Sutcliffe, Bos, and Coleridge Phinnemore.

Come feature time, it was rough start to the event with a series of cautions to kick everything off. Doug Wilman went around for a spin by himself in turn four, with the second yellow flag being waved for Cameron McGlashan and Peter Wakeling coming together, resulting in Wakeling getting into the frontstretch wall. The third caution then came out for Bryan Penny going through the infield turn one and two grass.

Once the event got going, Tyler Seaboyer climbed from second to the top spot, and didn’t look back as he built up a considerable advantage. Doug Butler weaved his way through traffic up to second, looking poised to reel in Seaboyer. He’d get the chance to start right on his rear bumper in a late-race restart after McGlashan spun on the backstretch, but was unable to make a move. Tyler Seaboyer ultimately led the final laps completely en route to winning.

Doug Butler got second, followed by Chandler Bos, Jason D’Antimo, and John Bird. Coleridge Phinnemore was sixth, ahead of Cameron McGlashan, Bob Phinnemore, Austyn Jennett, and Jacob Sutcliffe. Ryder White’s rookie campaign carried forward with an 11th, in front of Doug Wilman, Madisson Tienkamp, Cole Ecker, Laila Walser, Peter Wakeling, Bryan Penny, and Eric Rainey.
