INNISFIL, Ontario — Finding his way to the front, Brandon Steele was able to hold off a hard-charging Phil Givens in the closing stages to win the Bone Stock feature at Sunset Speedway on Saturday night.
Jacob Booth won the first heat to open up the night in front of Aundrea Lusk, Josh Berry, Jack Bird, and Jake Bird, while Jordan Owen won the second qualifier.
Booth started off the second round of qualifying back in victory lane with the daily double ahead of Jake Bird, Lusk, Harper, and Berry. Jack Bird got the win in the final heat, followed by Phil Givens, Owen, Brandon Steele, and Jay Cutting.
Come time for the feature, Brandon Steele wasted no time in finding his way to the lead, taking the top spot with just nine laps on the board. He then paced the field the rest of the way, despite being challenged by Phil Givens heavily in the final four laps. Jacob Booth kept the momentum rolling with a third, followed by Aundrea Lusk and Jack Bird.
Jordan Owen was able to salvage a sixth-place finish despite his car shutting off following a bump and run courtesy of Lusk in the closing laps, with Cash Ireton in seventh ahead of Aidan Harper, Josh Berry, and Jay Cutting. Steve Oakes was 11th in front of Jack Bird, Nicholas Reece, Alex Stewart, Justice Jones, and Ben McPherson.
Curtis Halliday placed 17th after going for a spin in the late stages, while Karlie Wilman was 18th after suffering a flat tire due to contact in the opening laps. Brittney Reece rounded out the field following a spin in turn two, which saw the fire extinguisher set up there explode after contact.
