Paul Boundy Picks Up Pair of Heat Victories on Opening Night at Peterborough Speedway

PETERBOROUGH, Ontario — Whether it was driving the Superman Renegrade Truck or his Super Stock, Paul Boundy found a way to secure the checkered flag in both.

After scoring a third in the first heat with the Renegrade Truck, he rebounded in the second round of qualifying to pick up the checkered flag despite a front tire being blown along the way. The speed carried over to the feature with a runner-up finish.

He also placed third in the first heat with the Super Stock, and once again turned it around in the second round for another dominating heat victory. He looked to carry the momentum forward to the feature, but was relegated to a seventh-place finish.

“The track cooled significantly and we missed the set up somewhat,” he said afterwards. “The car was very loose but got better towards the middle of the race – better, but not great. It’s a learning curve with the new tires, that’s for sure.

“If this week’s feature is any indication of how the season will go, you won’t want to miss it.”

Dating back to last year, it marks his ninth straight top-10 with the super stock, with that string including a pair of top-five’s.
