INNISFIL, Ontario — Making his first career Pure Stock start at Sunset Speedway, Calvin Reesor turned a lot of heads with a runner-up performance.
Reesor kicked off the year with a third in the first heat, followed by being just edged out for the victory in the second qualifier.
Starting seventh in the feature, he would move up to sixth in the first five laps, followed by a challenge for fifth on Lap 8. Running inside the top-five, he would challenge for fourth just past the halfway mark, taking over the spot on Lap 16.
Reesor would cross the finish line in fourth, but a pair of disqualifications in post-race technical inspection had him credited with a second-place finish.
Reesor’s first season at Sunset Speedway is supported by Barrie Nissan, OS Custom Exhaust & Performance, One Stop Muffler and Brake, Bullseye Axe Throwing, Barrie Fiberglass Pools and Spas, Barney’s Auto Electric, Auto Trim of Barrie, and Shepherds Docks.
