INNISFIL, Ontario — The rookie season for Cheyenne Charles has officially began at Sunset Speedway.

Charles started off the night with a sixth-place finish in her first heat, followed by a fourth in the second qualifier.

Starting 10th in the feature, she began to make her way forward in the early stages, running ninth with just four laps on the board. She continued move forward, poised for a solid top-10 finish. However, the late stages of the event would see her car develop a steering issue, making it tough to turn. As a result, she faded back to 12th by the time she crossed the finish line underneath the checkered flag.

Charles will continue her season next weekend at Sunset Speedway on Sunday, May 19 as part of the Spring Velocity race weekend.
