If Kyle Neumeister unloads the car at Sunset Speedway on Saturday night, you know you’ll probably see it sitting in a familiar location by the end of the night.
Dealt with a new challenge of racing track announcer Allan Lankin, he wasn’t phased as he made the late-race pass to take the lead, cruising his way to his seventh feature win this season. For the record, there’s only one night this whole year he has failed to reach victory lane. Lankin crossed the checkered for a runner-up finish behind the wheel of Aundrea Lusk’s No. 17 entry as she attended a wedding. While he is great on the microphone, there is hope that it loads to more fun opportunities.
The Zardo crew brought out their bone stock for the third time this season, with crew member Gary Foude behind the wheel for the first time this week. Despite being involved in a mid-race incident, he fought his way back for a third-place finish ahead of Connor Maltese. For Maltese, that’s his eighth straight top-five finish. Kris Inglis rounded out the top-five for his sixth of the season.
The night wasn’t smooth for everybody as contact in the heats created significant damage for some people, namely Peter Inglis who entered the night going for his third straight victory. As a result, he was forced to start and park in the feature.
