DJ Christie Earns Gale’s Auto Aftermarket Performer of the Week for May 18

OHSWEKEN, Ont. – May 24, 2018 – Ohsweken Speedway officials are proud to announce the addition of the Gale’s Auto Aftermarket Performer of the Week award for the 2018 seson.

The weekly award will showcase a driver or team that exhibits outstanding effort and performance during the Friday Night Excitement events at Ohsweken Speedway.The first recipient selected for the Gale’s Auto Aftermarket Performer of the Week Award is DJ Christie and the No.5 Strickland’s GMC Crate Sprint Car team.

Friday, May 18th was the inaugural race for the Action Sprint Tour at Ohsweken Speedway and the No.5 Crate Sprint Car faced the challenges of the track, breaking a driveshaft in the heat. The team raced against the clock to repair their Sprint Car and make the B-Main.Christie drove to a 2nd-place finish in the B-Main, giving him the 20th-place starting position in the Feature. He battled his way through traffic to come from 20th to an outstanding 3rd-place podium finish in the Action Sprint Tour feature. Congratulations to DJ Christie and the No.5 Crate Sprint Car team for an amazing performance.
