We Love First Time Winners

(Grand Bend ON) Saturday’s opening night of racing at Grand Bend Speedway was filled with a pair of first time winners and some that knew exactly where victory lane was. The group from RCM Racing Parts were treated to a dandy show.

McNichol Welding & Fabricating Jr B Sprint Rookie Brooke Pinsonneault (8) wheeled her sprint car to her first checkered flag in just her first start. Getting by Kaleb Taylor (41) and Carter Nicol (6) in the first of two feature races. The Second feature, Pinsonneault led early, only to have the lead flip flop two more times with Carter Nichol. Pinnsonnealt appeared to have the race in the bag but approached some lap traffic and Nichol was able to sneak by for the win with a few laps to go. Both PInonneault and Nichol both scoring their first wins of their careers at Grand Bend Speedway.

In the OK Tire Woodstock Jr. A Sprints. Veterans Tyler Cullen (43) and Ethan Orr (57) took checkered flags in their Feature race pairs.

Hogtown Cylcle’s 9hp sprints had Matt Korcina (93) return to Grand Bend Speedway after a few years hiatus. It didn’t take long for Korcina to shake off the rust to win both feature races.

Dutton driver Steve Lovie (1) powered back from earlier rough driving penalty to drive around Kyle Neumeiste4r (92) in the late stages of the 25 lap feature for the London Drive Systems 4Fun’s. Jamie Grover (33) was looking solid in 3^rd spot before losing a right front wheel in the final corner. Dawson Urbanek (4) was able to sneak by Grover’s 3 wheeled car to claim 3^rd position in the final momemts.

Racing resumes Saturday May 27 Presented by Klotz Canada and Melchers Construction. The card includes the McNichol Welding and Fabrication Jr. B and the OK Tire Woodstock Jr. A Sprints, and the first events of the 2017 season for the Broadway Services Junior Late Models and Tommy’s Motors JCAR Mini Trucks. Racing Starts at 7:00 and Pit Gates opening at 4:30
