As the schedules continue to be released, the next phase of the Ontario race season is starting to come together as OSCAAR has began releasing details surrounding their 2017 schedule.
The 2017 OSCAAR Modified Season and inaugural OSCAAR Hot Rod Series will both kick off on Sunday May 21 as part of Full Throttle Motor Speedway @ Varney’s “Victoria Day Meltdown”. The Modifieds will feature a 50-lap feature, while the Hot Rods are set to run a 25-lap event at the 1/4 mile speed bowl.
The modifieds are coming off a successful season which saw a highly contested OSCAAR Race for the Cup across the province, with Gary McLean coming away as the champion for the fifth straight season ahead of rookie Luke Gignac and sophomore A.J. Emms.
Meanwhile, OSCAAR began to put the pieces of the Hot Rod Series together last year, set to bring the retro steel bodied racecars of the 1949-early 1970s era back to the track in an affordable fashion.
For Full Throttle Motor Speedway, this just makes the details surrounding their Victoria Day weekend special much more appealing to fans, with now these two divisions joining their nine regular divisions – and fans only having to pay $13 if they want to take it all in.
