Reckzin Motorsports Looks to Return to Track in 2017

After missing the 2016 season, Reckzin Motorsports is set to make their return to the asphalt ovals in Ontario in 2017.

Between a new baby and work, there wasn’t time to make the trip to the track last year.

“Traveling so far means every race night is a whole weekend away for us,” Sam Reckzin said. “The car is ready to run Full Throttle (Motor Speedway) or Peterboro (Speedway), but both are over 300km away from home and I have to take Saturdays off work, close my store etc.”

Despite not being on track, there was work done towards the program in the garage. The team spent a good part of 2016 working on their program and has the new Limited Late Model ready to go. While they started the year with both a late model and Camaro thunder car, the decision was made to sell the thunder car so they could concentrate on the late model.

“When I was building the car we have made some things to be able to switch it from a true LLM to a perimeter pro late to open up more options for us,” Reckzin noted. “Who knows; if we got a 604 and a good sponsor we could try some APC stuff. I like building and working on the racecars, just as much as driving and learning the “newest” setups and tricks. When you repair street cars for a living, it’s a nice change to be able to build and fabricate and tune different things.”

With a renewed focus set towards 2017, they plan to run a few races throughout the year. As to what races and tracks, those are yet to be determined as of right now.

“I have too much time and money tied up in racing to let the car just sit too long,” Reckzin said. “Hopefully we can find a few more sponsors to help with the travel expenses too and can commit to a schedule.”

Reckzin Motorsports would like to thank Reckzin Electric, “? Consulting”, and Ds Motosports for their sponsorship thus far. Furthermore, Sam Reckzin sends an extended thank you out to his wife and parents for their commitment.

In hopes of earning more sponsorship for the 2017 season, Sam Reckzin has entered the Champion’s Sponsorship Contest. if you have a chance, take a look at the entry and give him a vote.
