After winning the Indy Lights Championship last year, Spencer Pigot is getting the chance to move up to the Verizon IndyCar Series in 2016. The California native previously announced that he will run at least three races for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, beginning with the season opener at St. Petersburg.
“I’m looking forward to the three races I have so far,” he commented. “St. Petersburg is my home track, I grew up in Orlando. A track I’ve enjoyed, have had success at. I’m excited to get there.”
Beyond the season opener, Pigot is scheduled to take part in both races at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. There is a possibility to run more races, as the plan is currently set to “do as many races as he can”.
